Featuring a spacious living area, kitchen, A/C, clean and comfortable marine head (restroom) Pompanette Tournament fighting chair, Penn Gold International 2 speed reels (130, 80 & 50 lb. class) and outriggers in excellent condition. Rod Bender has plentiful seating throughout the inside and outside and panoramic views from the flybridge!

I’ve fished off the East Coast and the Gulf of Mexico many times. This was our first trip to Maui, and was really looking forward to fishing its beautiful waters. Our experience on Rod Bender was the best offshore trip anywhere in the United States. Captain Chris was hands down the friendliest and most knowledgeable Captain I’ve ever had the privilege to learn from. We didn’t have to ask what we were doing or what that plan was. He explained everything in great detail. His deck hand, Keola, has to be one of the coolest dudes on Maui. The way he interacted with everyone on the boat was amazing. We started high speed trolling as soon as we left the harbor, and arrived to the fishing grounds in a quick 30 minutes or so. This is much better than the hour plus runs on the East. Coast. The 35’ Cabo is in pristine condition, complete with an air conditioned galley and a super clean bathroom. These guys worked their butts off from the moment we left the dock, to the moment we got back. The highlight of the day was when we least expected it, BAM! We heard the rigger jingle, and then the sweet sound of line ripping off the reel! Everybody jumped up and started doing their job while Chris and Keola directed the show. We were hooked up with a beautiful Blue Marlin! After fighting him for several minutes, they gaffed him and pulled him over the transom. That was the best feeling I’ve ever had in 40 years of fishing! I got literal cold chills! When you are on Maui and want spend the day with the best fishing crew here, make sure you book a day on the Rod Bender! Mahalo my friends! Hope to see you next year!

Amazing day of fishing in the annual women tournament!! We placed in the marlin category, won the ahi category which also was biggest fish and won us the whole tournament!!! Not to mention the four mahi we got onboard! Absolutely epic, highly recommend!! Captain Chris and deckhand Keola provided top notch gear, professional service and an all around great a time!

Captain Chris and Keola did not disappoint. They worked so hard and My son caught his first marlin! The rod bender is a top of the line fishing vessel in impeccable condition. Only thing I can say is that we wish we would have stayed out there longer (we did a 6 hour trip).
