HOW TO FIND US
Rod Bender is located in Slip #45 in Ma’alaea Harbor, close to the Maui Ocean Center. Maalaea Harbor address is 11 Maaalaea Harbor Rd. Wailuku HI 96732. The harbor is conveniently located central to Maui’s most popular resort areas including Kihei, Wailea, Lahaina & Kaanapali.
PARKING
All parking in Ma’alaea Harbor is paid for by scanning the QR codes posted at the harbor parking signs. Park close to the “land” side of the harbor in any open spot close to slip #45. To pay, simply scan the QR code and enter your license plate number.Parking is $2.00 per hour. Please make sure to pay for parking as the harbor does tow cars that have not paid.

What to bring
We include all fishing gear, bottled water, soft drinks, and granola bars. Guests should bring their own food and favorite drinks and snacks. We have a large cooler on board with ice to store food and drinks and keep them cool. Canned beer is acceptable, please no glass. Also please leave bananas at home as they are considered bad luck!
Be sure to bring sunglasses/hat or a visor and sun-protective clothing, cash for gratuity is always appreciated.

We welcome children and families! For safety, children should be at least 6 years old to participate.

Our permit allows for a maximum of 6 participants.

Departure Times
All departure times are at 6:00 am (5:45 check-in) unless requested otherwise.

What if there is bad weather?
In the event we must cancel the trip due to bad weather, we will do our best to rebook you to another day during your stay in Maui. Although it doesn’t happen often, it can happen. If you are not able to reschedule, we will issue a 100% refund for your booking.

Boat amenities
Rod Bender has spacious and plentiful seating options inside and out. The boat interior salon is fully air-conditioned, with a large living room, restroom, kitchen, L-shaped couch, Smart TV, and wifi. The separate cabin has a full-size bed ensuring everyone’s comfort.

What kind of fish do we catch?
We fish for pelagic sport fish that inhabit the deep blue waters of Hawaii. These fish include Tuna (Ahi and Aku), Mahi Mahi, Ono (Wahoo) and Marlin. These pelagic fish are some of the most sought-after sport fish to catch and eat in the world’s oceans and especially in Hawaii.

Can we keep the fish?
Yes! If you have a place to cook your fish, we are happy to filet it at the dock and send it home fresh with you. We also offer Fish Mounting services for the trophy catch you want to remember! Please note we do not ship fish to the mainland.

Do I need a license to fish in Hawaii?
Yes, the state of Hawaii requires non residents to purchase a fishing License. It is $20 and can be done at check in
